Jim Carter
The owner and founder! Business began as a part time business about 1981 in his home garage selling 1950's GM bed strips and wood planks. The hobby soon became a full time operation as older truck popularity grew. He remains on the premises full time, involved in the various departments.
Jim has tackled most all the jobs over the years and has grown with the company!
Barbara
Barbara is our Office Manager. The famous saying "The Buck Stops Here" relates to our town's own native son, former President Harry S. Truman. This is also an excellent analogy to our office manager, Barbara Hall.
Many problems and related questions surface daily in Barbara's office, most requiring immediate assistance. Rarely will they need to go beyond her level of authority. She has grown to understand the inter-workings of all our departments. Barbara's knowledgeable, independent nature quickly solves problems before the company owner (Jim Carter) ever gets involved.
With over 18 years experience with Jim Carter Truck Parts, Barbara has "done it all" while being a part of our continued growth.
Julie
Julie began in our sales department April 2002. She has picked up on the early GM truck business as fast as any person we have ever employed. Julie has quickly learned the fine details of early trucks and is now one of our more knowledgeable sales representatives. Her background is totally automotive. She has worked many years with new and used automotive sales companies. Julie knows trucks.
Jimmy
Jimmy answers our customer phones, waits on people in our front lobby, and takes care of core or merchandise returns. We've given him extra responsibilities so he is a very busy person. He has become very talented in locating, evaluating and recognizing items in our large used parts inventory.
He has been with us six years and handles himself well. His knowledge of early trucks grows daily. Jimmy's talents with older vehicles relates to his earlier years. For 17 years he drove his 1969 Pontiac Firebird. He was personally involved in all the repairs as well as total engine rebuilding. During this time he also owned and did major repairs on a 1965 Chevelle and 1963 Impala. His brother's 1962 Chevrolet ½ ton also received many of Jimmy's talents to keep it on the road.
Lynn
Lynn, is in charge of our inventory control department. Her extensive experience with our company (20 years) has given her the necessary understanding to keep our shelves filled with the items you need to restore your GMC or Chevy Truck. Much of her time is spent on the phone with our many vendors. She arranges each of our five catalogs before printing and supports our web site developers several times each day. As business is doing well, Lynn's job is never done.
Dave
Dave is your technical advisor. He has personally been involved in ground-up GM truck restoration for over 30 years. There are few restoration problems he hasn't experienced. The local "Genuine Chevrolet-GMC Truck Club" of Kansas City, also gets some of Dave's talents as he was their newsletter editor for several years. He provides his many talents and experience at no charge to you. Each business day from 2 pm till 4 pm, Central Time, he is available to help you with your technical restoration questions. Call 816-252-5857. If he doesn't know the answer, he will do his best to research your problem and get you back on the road.
